Celebrating A Culture of Safety at Ash Air

Safety and health of our team is our utmost priority. On Friday 28th April 2023, we celebrated Safety, Health and Wellbeing Day. This day allowed the Ash Air team the time to reflect on the significance of safety, health and wellbeing in our daily lives. The day celebrated at Ash Air, ties in with other entities around the world, aligned with the UN’s World Day for Safety and Health at Work.

The Health and Safety Day at Ash Air is a day that reminds us to prioritize safety and health not only in the workplace, but also for our customers. We also highlight our focus and commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for everyone.

Keeping in theme with ‘Working Together Safely’ we recognised the occasion with Safety training workshops, which were held virtually on Thursday and Friday 27th and 28th April 2023.

The objective of this safety workshop, via micro-learnings, was to emphasize safety at work and reinforce our safety and health culture by giving our team the possibility to openly discuss where we are with regards to safety and how we can improve the working safety conditions for employees.

Lead by our General Manager and SHEQ Specialist, the safety day was introduced to the team, and videos were shared subsequently, providing crucial information about handling and storing hazardous substances that our team could be faced with in this type of industry.

With the Day in mind, we set up a follow-up action for the rest of the year and beyond, ensuring we work safely with all those in our value chain including employees, customers, suppliers, contractors, and distributors - extending our approach that ‘safety is 100% of our behavior 100% of the time’. In our journey to a zero lost time workplace for accidents/incidents, we actively work to foster a safety culture that permeates every aspect of our operations.

By integrating safety into our daily routines and decision-making processes, we've been able to establish a strong foundation that encourages safe practices and minimizes potential hazards. We empower proactivity in addressing and identifying potential safety concerns, and believe that safety is a shared responsibility, where we all must play a role in ensuring safety at all levels.

Furthermore, we can say that our commitment to safety in the workplace extends beyond our own facilities. Our initiative in place, the products we offer, and the services we provide adhere to the highest safety standards. As does the training and support that we offer to our customers. The team at Ash Air take this responsibility seriously.

For World Health and Safety Day 2023, we thank our dedicated team. Their commitment to safety, their diligence to ensuring a secure and accident free workplace and environment allows us to improve continuously and create safety milestones in the company and within the industry.
