Piston Compressors: Application Areas
Piston compressors – also known as reciprocal compressors – are designed to work within certain limitations. Find out more about them here. Read More…
Most
businesses concentrate on the air compressor and consider the piping as a secondary concern. The piping system can make or break your
business. Faulty, inefficient piping can cause pressure loss and lost power. Keeping a close eye on the overall layout, installations and
maintenance of your air piping system will help keep your business running at its’ optimal efficiency.
All too often, planning the compressed air piping system is the last consideration when organizing a shop floor. Proper time and planning needs to go into account when designing a compressed air piping system. Ensuring your system is designed efficiently will save you a headache down the road. A few things to watch for when designing your system are:
1. Leaks via connectors: One of the most common mistakes when putting together your piping system. Make sure to check for leaks.
2. Moisture: Moisture corrodes certain types of piping, causing rust to flake off into the air stream. The rust and vapor will reach at the equipment, clogging nozzles and contaminating the material you intend for the compressed air to deliver or apply.
3. Sharp angles: This is simple, sharp turns = slower pressure. Remember, A straight path in air flow is the most efficient, but we get not always possible.
4. Blocks or obstructions: Obstructions can occur as corrosion in the piping system breaks off. Main restriction points for obstructions are valves and connectors within your system.
Great! You now know what you be cautious about when planning your compressed air system, next let us focus on what you want from the piping you select for your business. - Leak Free Piping: Yep, this is an option when picking it. - Minimal Pressure Drops. - Never use PVC Pipes!
Your compressed air pipe can make or break the performance of your compressor. We stress that good piping is just as imperative as a good
compressor. Don’t overlook how important it is. Please contact us for any questions or assistance on our piping solutions. For tech
