Recently, our Wellington team (located in the lower part of the North Island) had an alert from ICONS showing an over heat warning. One of our local service engineers contacted the plant engineer who was not at the time not aware of any issues with his 55 KW air compressor. The plant engineer subsequently went to check the compressor and found that the compressor running at 113 degrees but still working OK.

Fast response times

We then dispatched a service engineer to check it out, and he found that the compressor had lost oil due to a leaking scavenge line; the repair was then carried out and the oil topped up.

A good outcome

This good result was all down to ICONS putting out the early alert so there was no actual breakdown and no down time. We had a very happy client, with the intelligent connectivity systems increasing reliability and allowing for proactive planning with a fast response time!

System Simplicity

ICONS is easy to install. It is either factory-installed or retrofit to equipment in the field using an all inclusive kit.

The ICONS box is installed in the electrical cubicle and connected through Ethernet or CAN Bus depending on the controller type of the compressor.

Data are sent out via a small antenna on the compressor roof. One device to each machine is all it takes both for connectivity and local monitoring.
